While driving at night of course on a black night rural highway the lights went out… AHHHHH!!! after a few seconds they would come back on, it keeps doing this, I tried swapping with another used switch but I believe it was from a Mustang… could this be the problem and what would make it just start happening, I drove it from Washington to Iowa with no problems…
Have you installed QH headlights or upgraded the headlights
The Cougar headlight switch has an inbuilt circuit breaker and will trip out with the load of QH or Xenon headlights if you are not using a relay
they are just normal headlights, it first started on high beam only but now does it with low beam too…
Sounds like you have a Mustang switch, you need this.
Hopefully it just the wrong switch. I have not had any problems like the ones you stated. Good luck.
I see that you joined CCC today…so welcome aboard.
Steven
Over heating the switch. You need the Cougar switch.
Thats what I thought, it really sucks getting in there, anyone have an old trick of getting to it easier? last time I scratched the crap out of my arms…
Thanks Don!! do you remmeber me coming to see your place? I drove the car in… She is looking pretty sweet now…
Sure would like to win the Eliminator, though a 69 would be optimal, I am sure you have a decent one laying around there…
