Headlight Cover Replacement

I bought a new headlight cover emblem and want to install it.
Do I need to totally remove the headlight cover to do this?
If so, how do you remove the cover (there appears to be bolts thru each end of the cover, but seems very difficult to be able to get a wrench on the outer nut (between the fender & cover assembly))?
Does anyone have any tricks to doing this?
Appreciate any help & Happy New Year all.

No the cover does not have to be removed. Don at WCCC told me to use two screwdrivers inserted behind the emblem, one on top and one on the bottom. Then just pull them toward you and the emblem will snap off breaking the tabs holding it on. I was a little nervous when I did mine but it works.
Then install the new emblem using the snap nuts supplied. It’s a little tricky but worth it.

(I’m assuming that you bought the entire running cat emblem not just the black background)

Hey Mike,
Great! Thanks!
I’ve removed a couple from the junk yards this way, but like you, was a little nervous about doing this on my car!
Great news; it looked like a lot of work that was unnecessary (i.e., must be a better/quicker way).
Yes, I bought the entire emblem from WCCC (those guys are great)
I’ve had this for about 2 years now so it’ll be nice to finally get this thing on.
Thanks for the quick response, have a Happy New Year.
Vr,
Todd (and his 68!)
