Heater blower motor / non AC / 69 Cougar

Does anyone know where the Orange wire one the back of the blower motor goes to? My wire is missing the connector on the end.

Thank you

Most likely the wire color is revevsed. Black is not ground. Test before using. The fan will spin backwards. Orange will be ground to the firewall.

Both wires go through the firewall to the heater blower resistor.

Thank you, Bill

Thanks Royce, I will see if I can find the resistor.

I went out to look under the hood, the black wire must be the ground, I see it is already screwed to the fender apron by the firewall, I will run the Orange wire to the blower resistor and see if that works.

The blower motor resistor is under the glove box door mounted to the heater. Neither of the wires should go to ground.

That’s correct for the 70 as well. Orange goes through firewall to blower resistor and black goes to ground on the fender apron.

Yep, read the header! LOL
NON a/c!
Great pic showing the ground lug. Cut it off the old motor, use both wires.

Do check new motors rotation! They will move air going backwards and can fool ya.

Cool, my car looks just like the picture, Thanks so much!!!

Blower running backwards would suck - literally

Actually it still blows air but not as much. My prior owner had mine reversed.

I guess I am confused - the schematic posted shows the icing switch and the AC compressor.

Royce, Its easy for us ol farts to get confused !!

That was my bad - here is the correct schematic for non-AC cars in 1970:

I can’t believe I’m having to ask this stupid question. I am having trouble removing the radio control knobs on the stock AM radio ?? I thought they just pull off
