Heater Core, Progress

It’s been a while but progress has been made.

Got all that junk out of my way.

After gathering all the parts and other stuff, it’s all going back in. made it to the lower Dash in, but I still need to get the wiring all back into the right place with a new headlight switch, something bad happened in there. Explains the lack of Dash lights.

Insulation/sound deaden-er installed in preparation for the new Carpet.

More pix as progress is made.

Looking great!

Nice work. I am on a similar mission.

Pictures, take a lot of pictures, I should have taken a picture of every electrical connector. Other than that…

I also cleaned 50 years of dirt & grime off the wiring and lower dash etc…

Wow! Look how clean those floor pans are!

I thought the same thing. I know a lot of folks that wish theirs were that nice.I do on my 70 CJ.

You have drooled over them before  Car lived in Los Angeles until i got it last December.

I hit all the surface rust with a wire wheel and painted on some enamel with a foam brush to re-seal them before the insulation/sound deaden-er. WCCC Mass Back Carpet and re covered seats go in after i figure out where all the wires go.

I am a big fan of pictures. Both to document my work but also remember what things were like before I started tinkering.

I figured out where all the wires were supposed to go, and of course found burned out & missing bulbs. The Carpet, & Console went in with the new Stainless Rockers and I got the re-upholstered Drivers seat in before needing to call it a day.

My work schedule was a bit interrupted by a fortuitous visit by another Cougar Owner who spotted me on a drive by (see Sunday Visit in the community Section).

Now, if WCCC will ever get those Blue Diffusers back in stock (hint, hint) I can finish the Gauge Cluster.
