Help! I need a V belt pulley!

A friend of mine came over from work last night, and basically pulled the motor out of my 68 for me. Young guy, and motivated. I miss having that much energy! Anyway, I thought I had my new, used donor motor ready to go, but I am hung up for a crank pulley, for a V belt, with 4 bolts for the crank dampener. The one that came out of the car is only a 3 bolt. Is it better to buy a 3/4 bolt balancer, or try and find a V belt pulley and a 4 bolt center? I thought we were going to hear it run again today, but it isn’t looking good.

Which motor are you using

I have a few 351Clev crank pulleys here… give me a call

Thanks Bill! I will let you know how it works out!

I would stick to the oe 3 bolt balancer myself as then eve4y thing will just bolt up knowing what you take off is what you put back on.
Other wise you just chase your tail with things like the pulleys etc etc …just my opinion .

So, quick update- we got the old motor out, and new motor in, and did hear it run. Knowing a younger guy with some actual drive to get anything accomplished and having the stupid electric tools is a tremendous help!
The 93 5.0 went it pretty painlessly. I bought a new clutch and flywheel from rock auto last year for the build. The only problem is now the spacing for the pulley set up. So today I ordered a .350 spacer from Jeg’s, and it is on the way. I also found a reasonably priced water inlet for the intake manifold! So, if everything comes in soon, I will have the engine buttoned up by the weekend!

CVF Racing makes a special 4 bolt pulley with the 3 bolt belt spacing if your spacer doesn’t work out.

Nice carburetor.

JETEXAS, thanks, have you used their stuff before?
CJ750, thanks, but it isn’t what it looks like. I developed a ‘fetish’ for those stupid Lemans bowls a few years ago, and bought a few pairs on ebay when you could still get them for around a hundred each. Both the complete Holley carbs and parts are available new, if you know where to shop! By far, most people don’t even notice them, let alone know why they are special.

Yes, I went full serpentine belt conversion with their kit, and I also had to order the 4 bolt crank pulley with the 3 bolt belt spacing.

Another update- Jegs had the spacer I wanted on back order, until 27 Jul. I waited 14 days to find out it wasn’t on the shelf to get shipped out.
With the spacer, the 2 sheave pulley is out past the alternator pulley. the other 4 sheave that I have that is a 4 bolt, lines up on the closest sheave, but is a LOT shorter than the combo on the three bolt assy.
That is a 6 3/4 diameter, and 3 inch deep 2 sheave. I will check the usual spots for something in a 4 bolt that matches that description.
On another good note, I think we are going to try and start the 69 tomorrow after work, so lets hope it starts and roars again!

I have one 4 bolt crank set I’ll measure tomorrow to see if it matches your dimensions

It does not appear to be what you need it’s 21/4 tall and almost 8” wide

Thanks for taking the time to check-
I have ordered a 3 pulley set from CVF racing that they say is what I need to get everything lined up. Great customer service, parts should be here Thursday, or probably Friday at the latest. I will post pictures and more info after I am done!!-)

I got the new pulleys installed tonight, and of course, the next problem is that with the under drive, smaller diameter pulleys, I had to make 3 trips to the parts store, to get a new V belt to fit. However, everything lined up perfectly, and looks really nice to boot!
