Another find from my parts stash. An internet search keeps giving me mixed results so I figured the collective knowledge on here could help. This is a really nice fan shroud that just needs a good cleaning. I took a picture of the markings. Can someone confirm what this actually is?
My understanding is O was Fairlane untill 1968 and then Torino from 1969 untill 1976.
I guess I should add that I suspect it’s a service replacement. And the inevitable question is if it’s worth something to someone.
Smooth finish, so service replacement part.
According to the WCCC website it is for a 1969 Cougar and Mustang with a 351W. It is 24” wide. WCCC says that it also the same for a Boss 302 and a GT-350 Shelby. The original factory installed ones were textured and a dark brown color. The later service replacement ones were smooth and black. In NOS condition WCCC has the original ones priced at $864.00 and the service ones at $304.00. So even a nice used one would have some value.

Here is an original one showing the texture. It has a little bit more of a brownish tint to it, but not what I would normally call dark brown.
Thanks guys
Split, like mine
Same here. But epoxy has been holding mine together just fine!
My book lists it as: 302 BOSS Eliminator (ALL) 1969
Randy, on Don’s WCCC listing for the fan shrouds, a mention is made that the original horse hair looking rough textured shrouds if cracked can be repaired so as not to detect the crack (or chip if chipped). Well, some mechanic in the past has leaned / laid on the top of my 69’s and cracked it. Anyone know the repair procedure that Don mentions?
I do not know the process that Don uses to repair fan shroulds. It would be interesting to learn though as I have a few here that could use some repair. Perhaps Don did a video on the process?
