My car started life with a blue/blue color combo and was maroon with a ton of flake on black when I bought it. Originality was lost long ago! What I am wondering is if the 69 or so high back seats will fit in the 67 without a big hassle. Maybe they have similar tracks / bolt spacing? I’d like to get some more support and 3 point belts since the car has been (until taking down for strip and prime) my daily driver.

Jeramy, my best friend had 69 Mach 1 high back seats in his 67 Mustang. Shouldn’t be a problem. Also, the 67-70 seat tracks interchange. John

Yep they bolt right in. I took 69 XR7 high back seats from a totaled cougar and put them in my 67 Stang. Then at bit later they went into my 67 Shelby. I liked those seats!! LOL

I did not know that 69 XR7 had hi back seats, thought only Elim. had them. learn something new every day.
What you thought is correct, only Eliminators in '69 had high-backs and they were special in that the back release was up on the seat back side rather than down low as the '70 high backs are.

Hmmm maybe they were 70 seats? I think the lock latches might have been down low on the sides. Been a few years though. It was my old bosses car. Could have very well been a 70 but for sure it was a XR7. He just had the body and paint redone. He and his wife went on vacation and his boys took the car out for a joy ride gone bad with 18 wheeler on I95. Car was a total loss, smashed on ever side. Very lucky they were not killed. Front seats were about the only thing salvaged. He asked me if I neeed anything off the car (had a 67 mustang at the time) before it went to the junk yard. So I took the seats.
