Hockey Stick Adhesive

What is the best brand or type of adhesive to use to bond the weatherstrip pieces to the 69-70 convertible hockey sticks?

It’s 3M VHB structural adhesive. (as used on the reproduction parts, the originals were actually held on by peened over studs)

Is there a 3M part number?

I am not sure what the part number is in consumer quantities. Probably pretty close to 4618 or maybe4951. They are all very good.

No 2 sided tape will do that job based on the uneven surface of the die cast boot moulding and the large void you must fill. I use this windshield adhesive liberally. You first have to “rough up” both the aluminum weatherstrip bracket and die cast trim with a disc grinder.

Here is a picture of them installed with 3m Window Weld #08609

OPS! Don is right. I did not realize that those were called hockey sticks too. I was thinking you were referring to these:

The coupe 1/4 window mouldings also work better with the 3m product in my opinion, especially the 69-70 as they unlike the 67-8 are an uneven surface for tape to work its best.
