Holley 12-390-11 fuel pump

The original Carter pump on the 428 has sprung a leak.

Has anyone used the Holley 12-390-11 pump on their FE

I can also get a Carter M6905 which looks like the same pump without the bling

Looking for feedback before I race out and get a new pump. Down here they are about double what I can get one for from Rock Auto

The FE OEM Ford installed Carter fuel pumps are rebuildable with an inexpensive kit.

Ditto what Scott said, rebuild your original pump. Here is a kit on ebay:

Cheaper to buy from AMK:

Not sure I can get a rebuild it to Australia in two days, hence my question about experiences with the two pumps

Leon,
The Holley will work just like OEM, and is also re-buildable.

I bought the Carter M6905 when I suspected my OEM pump was failing. The Carter pump is identical to OEM except for some casting marks like the big “x”, date codes, etc. It also has the same specifications for pressure and flow as OEM. I re-installed the OEM on my car, so the replacement Carter is on the shelf, but that doesn’t do you any good.

The Holley pumps I have bought in the past are chrome plated pot metal. The Carter pump is a cast aluminum part like the original. The Carter unit is a better part.
