I recently purchased these items for my 1970 Cougar through West Coast Classic Cougar. Does anyone know the exact specs as to where the holes need to be drilled for installation for the hood scoop, rear and front chin spoilers?
If you got the correct reproduction hood scoop you can find the locations in the under structure of the hood. The corner holes are in the big holes and need to be figured out after the ones in the superstructure that is raised up to meet the top structure are drilled. I do not have a good picture of the underside of hood, but have installed several.
As for the rear spoiler, did you get an exact reproduction? If so you will find 2 D shaped holes in the superstructure, that is where the correct 70 rear spoiler goes. But is not then you will need to work it out by measuring the width of the pedestals and placing it equally to the sides of the trunk lid.
As for the front air dam, I have never installed one but I think you could hold it in place and mark the locations of the mounting holes.
Good luck and I am sure others will add there thoughts soon.
WCCC has a template for the hood scoop, using an original Ram Air hood. Here is the 1970 version.
Okay I’ve edited this post about 3 times regarding the rear spoiler. I’m gonna do a little more research on that. 1970 is different from 1969 (side-to-side spacing of the pedestals). However, assuming the front-to-back spacing is the same, measuring from the front leading edge of the trunk lid to the first bolt hole would be 22-1/4" according to the 1969 document from Ford. You could make a line across the tunk at that distance, then figure out where the center is, and go from there.
