NOW I 'member what this was about! T3? I too have troubles with the hood sticking up. I had threatened to pull my springs and make a prop rod to hold the hood up. I still might do this.
I considered that as well, there, scamper, until a wise man I know suggested, “What happens when a gust of wind catches it when it’s open and only propped?”…

The hood looks good T3. I have a question though. What are those strange implements hanging on the wall behind the green and yellow thing? That looks like a lawn tractor and lawn tools, but for the life of me I can’t figure out what they would be doing in your shop. I figure they must be something else.
Yup, that would be what they are…that is the L&G side of the shop…the house garage has two cars, and multitudes of kids riding type toys, bicycles, scooters, etc, in it.
