How good was Barrett Jackson?

How good was Barrett Jackson this year? I did not watch any. I was working and teaching so my time off was spent with family. I will catch episodes On Demand (Speed Channel). We’re the Cougars as nice as Brian’s “Gunner” GT-E from last year?

Brian set the bar pretty high. The low mileage '70 was exceptionally nice but it’s no GT-E. The weather was nice on Saturday and there were plenty of nice cars to look at,but overall it just wasn’t as exciting as last year. Later at Bill’s there was a good crowd. I belive we set a record for the number of nice Cougars in a cul de sac.

I thought this years auction was fantatic. I spent the better part of 5 days there. The 70 CJ was fabulous. It was a stunning restoration. The color and the lack of ram-air to me held this car back. Being a near perfect 4 speed CJ vert should have brought more. There were some stunning cars at the show. The caliber is getting better and better. Nowhere as many dogs going across the block. I would have liked to make Bill’s meeting but I was with 3 other guys and I didn’t want to miss the hype of Saturday afternoons auctions. Good times for sure.

Too many fluff pieces in the TV coverage. What was that lady with the racoon makeup doing there anyway?

Over all I thought the cars were very nice and a few in our group thought the quality of cars were better then past years. The CC Boss 302 that went for $195,000 was about a $60,000 car. Something was going on with that.

I finally watched the tape of the 5000 block cars last night…HOly Toledo!

I wondered what was happening while we were chewin’ the fat at Bills…we have got to figure out how to time our visit better next time. There was a lot of buzz going on over there from 5pm to 7. We spent half of that time trying to find Bill’s house (GPSs aren’t always perfect!) and didn’t really look at the schedule of the auction very closely

I was struck by the two Hemi GTX Mopars that went for 115,00 total. What the heck!??

I still haven’t watched any On Demand. I did watch some Mecum this morning before I left for work. I was shocked that the hammer price on a 1969 Torino with a 428 Cobra Jet. 19,500. It was a good looking car, gold in color with factory air and ram air induction.
