How much leather

I am looking to have my interior seats redone in leather & vinyl. How much leather and vinyl do I need? I have talked to SMS so far I am doubtfull if they get Cougars.

They are telling me that I need a a hide & a half of leather plus the vinyl. My car interior code is 6B dark blue must be a hard color to match. I had John’s cougars make me a set but it was the wrong color I have been waiting for him for two years at least.

If my interior was white or black it would be much eazier.

Basically the parts of the front seats that touch you when you are in the seat were leather originally, plus the very top of the upper rear seat cushion. It took my guy a little more than 1/2 hide of smooth leather and 1/2 hide of pebble grain leather to remove and replace all the vinyl pieces.

So I guess they are right because they likely do not have any way to sell less than 1/2 hide of a custom dyed color to you.

Royce:
This is on a 67 XR7 so I think the leather goes all the way across the bottom and seat back of the front seats. It does not have the side pieces of vinyl like the 68s. It seems to be all the same grain across the seating area. The only pebble graining that I see is the bottom front of the back seat and that is vinyl. And that is very large pebble grain pattern. Thanks

They also want about $2600 for just the material. If I send them my old seats for a pattern $2800 or so to sew the seats. Second sounds like a bargian compaired to the first price. I would not want loose the seats shipping them.

I did take another look at he front seats and do see the pebble grain leather on the front seats.

I spent only $300 for the leather. Bought it on eBay. But mine was black.

For the green GT-E I ordered custom dyed hides from Spinneybeck (Italian leather, one hide Pebble and one Smooth grain). Cost was around $1200 + shipping for two hides to match the Saddle color. Had to wait about 6 weeks. That was in 2007.
