OK, so I’ve ordered a replacement flasher for my '70 convertible. From what I’ve read it is located under the dash next to the radio. Looking up under the dash I don’t see it on either side of the radio. How is the best way to access the flasher? Do I have to remove the radio or the dash itself? Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks.
Which flasher are you replacing? There are two.
The Emergency Flasher Relay is located on the driver’s side of the radio:
The Turn Signal Flasher Relay is located on the passenger side of the radio:
Here is a pic of the Turn Signal Flasher in place (red flasher can). You can access it behind the glove box.
I don’t have a picture of the Emergency Flasher in place, but if you crawl under the dash upside down and look up, you should see it in there (see schematic pic in my previous post).
Excellent photos and descriptions, Mike B.
Thanks very much Mike. This is very helpful. I’m replacing the turn signal flasher. I suppose the best thing to do is remove the glove box. Thanks again.

Hello,
Great information! Would this also pertain to the 69 Cougar in regards to positioning of the emergency flasher & turn signal flasher?
Thanks for any information you can provide.
Tom
It will.
Thank you! Glove box door removal for easiest access?
