Idler Pulley Bearing Worn - Question

My idler pulley bearing is worn and needs replacing. I saw that West Coast Classic cougar can do it if I send it in. I was wondering how to get it off the bracket. Here’s the piece I am talking about:

It looks like I can remove the pulley with the this nut:

Is that correct because I’ve tried and it won’t budge. I’ve been hitting it with a rust penetrator. Also wondering if maybe its not lefty loosey. If anyone knows I’d appreciate if you can tell me because I don’t want to damage it if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks.

Are you saying that to get the pulley off of the bracket I have to press it off instead of wrenching it off?

Yes, that portion you are pointing to is just to grip it as you tighten the belt. If you look close you will see it is all cast in one piece.

Is this something that could be done in a vice?

No, it has to be done in a press and the odd shaped ones like these are very tricky and take the correct jig / blocking.

I bought a nice 10 ton press the other day. I anticipate needing it quite a bit during some car build and maintenance around here.
The box was misleading due to it’s smaller size, but man was it heavy. I had to get the young kids at the store to help put it in my truck. I opened the box at home and took items out one at a time.
With age comes inteligence over brute strength. At least that’s what some old guy told me when I was looking in the mirror.
