I am really sad to have to sell her, but she is a great, solid, pretty rare car.

Good luck Mike!

Wow!! $50k ain’t all bad. Beautiful car!!

I want Pyewacket to go to a good home where she is the center of attention and gets driven and shown all the time. I set the price so it is not outrageous and she can get enjoyed like she should be. My garage is too full and too many Nationals for me to do with her mates, she deserves better.

Ah well Mike, it was good having you here while it lasted. Guess we’ll still see you on the “other” forums though

Good luck with your sale!

I am probably not done with Cougars just yet, I will be back most likely. I just need to get some other cars fully through the judging process and look at new directions then when I gave more time and possible garage space.

Great story and history! I’m the new owner and can’t wait until it arrives. I am not a flipper and have had, and still do own, collectibles. Rest assured, it’s in good hands. In all honesty, the color combo and engine combo are what caught my eye. I have sent Mike a PM in hopes of creating a history tree. I’ll keep everyone in the loop.

Excellent forum!

Thanks, Phil J (rcode)

Spoke with Mike tonight. Great conversation. The history of this car will continue. It’s sellers like Mike that keep this hobby on the high road and enjoyable.

Great to speak with you, I think Pyewacket will have a great new home and be cared for as she should be, cheers!

So, an update. I drove the car to the East Coast Nationals untouched, something I had NEVER done in the past with any vehicle I’ve ever purchased without a thorough examination. Other then a torrential rain storm that Friday night, (which resulted in no leaks) it was a fantastic trip/weekend. A very soild and comfortable ride, even the queen was impressed! As a product of the mid/late 60’s car scene, radial tires were extremely rare. I firmly believe that this car, as originally equipped, prevented a lot of the usual rattles and noises generally associated with this generation of vehicles. Below is a list of what I’ve done to further bring the car as close as possible to original condition.

Radio bezel and NOS antenna
Steering wheel
Stock exhaust
AC compressor
engine fan & clutch
front disc brake flex hoses
PW switches (2)
quartz clock conversion (not original but definitely more dependable)
gauge lens covers
correct console lid and hinge
ordered correct black styled wheels and trim rings.

My hat’s off to Mike Johnson from whom I purchased this spectacular, solid, original cat for including lot’s of these parts and being a true collector caretaker.

Her new Mass plate is “XR7428”, ya baby!

Very cool! Sounds like you had a great time

It is a very cool Cat and I enjoyed getting to check it out at the Nats! Nice work on the car to date. Post up more pics when you finish your work on it.

Phil it sounds like your putting your own touches on that fine Cat to take it to the next level. Post up some pictures…we all like pictures.
Steven

Thanks for the kind words Rcode, BTW, I was cleaning out the garage the other day and found the two front bumper guards I ordered for it and never put on. PM me with your address and I’ll mail them to you. Cheers and Merry Xmas.
