Yes. You have to remove pretty much everything in front of the engine, even the grill and hood latch etc.. I am now convinced it is easier to pull the engine but it can be done.

I second that. if putting in a cam etc….it will save time pulling it just to put new plugs in.

I don’t see any reason to remove the hood but the center grille mount has to go and the front bumper and radiator,

For clarity, the hood latch, not the hood.
