Intermittent electrical problem with signal lights, power windows, radio on 69 convertible

I have a 1969 Cougar convertible. I have been having intermittent problems with the radio, power windows and signal lights. Sometimes they just randomly go off. Usually (not always) if I stop the car and restart it they will start working again. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian big.1@live.ca

A number of possibilities here. Next time it happens try jiggling(slightly moving the key, but don’t his start) the ignition switch. Could be a poor connection(s) in the fuse box. Look that over and clean as needed. Could also have a intermittent open on the power feed from the ignition solenoid, the heaver wire going to the firewall.

Has anything changed? Added/removed anything? Might be the ignition switch as badcatt suggested.
You should perform a continuity test on the pins of the ignition switch per the shop manual for the various key positions for the switch. Intermittent electrical issues are hard to isolate and correct.

are there any tricks to getting under the dash to check or change fuses ?

Young age!

Its just above the e brake. Good light too!

Working under the dash is a particular kind of hell regardless of the car. Have fun with your troubleshooting!

For much more than vacuuming , take the front seat out . If you have a lift , raising the car up so the rocker is waist high also helps
