Update for Cougars going to Iola. Preregistered cars enter gate 4. If you are not preregistered, enter gate 3 and ask to be parked with the rest of the Cougars. The plan is to park the Cougars in the westerly row of the large field. Floyd is the lead person for parking in that area and is the person I made arrangements with. I will be there around 8am.
I will be parking in the IMOA part of the show.
Just got back from Iola with a few parts and a sunburn. High point was seeing Brian’s XR7-G. He got to see copycatvert in all it’s dusty glory out in the field.
I’ll be getting there sat morning around 10;30, hope to see a few of you guys around.
I’ll be wearing a navy blue cougar shirt from Johns.
had a great time at IOLA and met some new Cougar owners. Lots of nice Cougars and cars in general. it is always nice to attend a show in an area you usually don’t travel to and see some different cars. The swap meet was hudge and I didn’t get thru all of it, but very little Cougar parts and one 67 body for sale.
A couple days before the show I printed up a couple story boards to explain the XR7-G. Alot of people got educated and most had a puzzled look on there face as they didn’t even realize such a Cougar was ever made in 68, and with a power sun roof. Being parked by the Mercury XM800 concept car was fun as that sure is a nice looking Mercury. I’ll post up some pictures but, unfortunitaly I didn’t get a picture of copy cat and the pictures of Tomcat Eliminator turn out bad due to the bright sun.
