Is this the correct tire decal for my 1968 Hertz G?

This is the tire decal on my Hertz G (2/29/1968) glove box. I can’t guarantee that the glove box is actually original to the car. The part number on it is: C8WA-1532-B

When I did a search on that part number I found that DNO has that number listed as a space saver tire decal.

It looks just like the ones being sold as Early 1967 at WCCC, less the part number.

You would think that the part number starting with C8WA would indicate a 1968 ford part, but I have a couple original 1969 Mustangs that actually have D0ZA-1532-C decals on their doors, which you would think indicates a 1970 part.

I suppose I should buy the 67’s and be happy with it, but it would be nice to know as they are a big pain in the butt to remove once installed.

That’s an interesting question. Of course the tires (and wheels) were changed at Smith to a radial from what the car was shipped from Dearborn with.

Here is the decal from my G but it is not an early Hertz G but instead built in May. And I can’t be sure it is original either.

I thought the repro tire pressure decals didnt have a p/n on them?

I can’t speak for Cougar yet, but there are repo decals for Mustang with the part numbers on them. My only purchases at this point are for 1969’s though…..

I think you have the original decal. Ma ny of the tire pressure decals are not reproduced. Yours is apparently one of them.
