So I thought I would ask after I typed in some search words, and got thousands of posts on hundreds of pages. I went to my local parts shop yesterday who mixes DuPont, (which I think got bought out) Anyway, we dug out the old book, and found the 2G code which if I recall right the DuPont number is 9266LH. He entered it into the computer, and came up empty.
Just wondering if anyone has a code from a more modern color, or alternative idea for getting some interior color mixed. He did a camera shot with whatever camera they use, and it didn’t produce anything.
I need to change some black padded windlace for around the door openings to ivy, want to freshen the windshield pillar pads, spray a pair of the reproduction arm rests from that wrong dark green color, and perhaps freshen the door panels on my 67 standard. Thought I would tackle it myself.
I know John over there at JCC has dye in cans. Is that a better option?

I went with JCC for the paint and dye. I purchased Steering wheel ring and center at WCCC. The Console Pad picture was taken at night the color matches the rear panel and steering cap.
Are you sure the steering column is painted Ivy too ?
Your right it is not. I was sent that color. I assumed it was what was available. It did seem a little darker to me. I questioned it as well. The colors look OK together but definitely off.
I bought a couple cans of the L ivy in the SEM spray cans from NPD. I sprayed a little out on a crappy windshield pillar pad I have. It looks…well not green enough to match the other interior panels. I know over the years that light color can get dirty looking, and even after scrubbing it, will probably still tend too look a little darker than when it was new, but this new can stuff looks too “silvery” to me. Like I said not green enough. Kinda like the difference (I see at least on my screen) between the quarter panels above. Right one looks more silvery, the left one more green. Don’t know what to do now.

I couldn’t agree more. It definitely does not look the same. The panel on the left is the one I dyed and the old one is the right. Originally I just wanted to touch up my interior. The difference is so noticable I ended up painting/dying everything. I noticed that John sent me Light Ivy Gold Dye with Med Ivy Gold Paint for 64-66 Mustang. I was a little sceptical but I went with it. I got tired of going back and forth. At the end of the day I want a nice clean driver with decent power. I am not looking for a show car or a full restoration with exact original details. The console here looks like it has a little more gold because the picture was taken in the sun. It is the same paint and dye used on the panels and dash and they match great.
neftali.rosado, just an FYI for you in case you do not already know. If you are planning to place that console into the car where you show the repainted dash you will need to remove the shifter bezel and replace the shifter arm with one for a console.

Yes, I do plan on putting it in the car. I was told all I needed is the shifter bucket and that the shifter arm is the same. Do you know if there is anything else I need mechanically? I have the harness rear light and all the other stuff.
I am not aware that there is any difference with the shifter bucket. The shifter arm though is different. An arm for a console car will have a small loop tab at the base of the arm, this loop is not on a non console arm. You need this loop to connect the plastic linkage piece from the arm to the indicator light bracket. You should have an H shaped black plastic piece that holds the light to show what gear you are in. The linkage piece goes between this bracket and the shifter arm. Without seeing what all you do have I cannot say if you are missing anything. Posting a photo of the other console parts you have would help.

Attached are pictures of what I have. I am waiting on rear lamp and selector rod. It does make sense now that you mention it. Before I ordered the the shifter bucket I asked if the shifter arms were the same and I was told that they were. Now I am not really sure what the difference is or what is needed. If someone can chime in after looking at pics and let me know what I need it would be greatly appreciated. I also have shifter bushings. Below is the question I asked and response.

Response - yes, they are the same shifter arm.
The selector rod is most likely what they are calling the rod that connects the shifter arm to the indicator light. In order for it to work you need to be able to attach the rod to the shifter arm, that is why the console shifters have the added loop. If you look at your shifter with the bezel removed look at the base of the arm, that is where the loop is located. I cannot tell quite right by your photo what the piece in the lower right corner is. It might be the indicator light.

I took a couple of photos of a console shifter arm with the loop. I have yet to learn how to post photos here, yeah, I know. It probably is not that hard I just have not taken the time to learn. Hey Neftali the console looks great. I may have to repaint mine, but don’t know what to strip it with to get the paint off it now. Don’t know that I just want to add more paint, and loose the grain in the plastic.
I talked to John this week, and he doesn’t sell vinyl paint any longer. He said it was a huge hassle. It was hard to keep a constant supplier of it with consistency. He said he was dealing with shipping it being it was aerosol, and customers getting it and saying the color wasn’t right.
I got some from NPD last week. Sem brand. Opened one can and did a test with it, and it was too light. I called them on it, and they gave me my money back, and told me to keep it. So I thought why not, opened the second can I got, and it sprayed out the right color (little greener) There isn’t a lot number on the cans, but there is a sequence number. One can is 1700 something, the other 1400 something. I assume this number is what order the cans were made in. I will have to look again which can is right, but it’s odd it is off from one can to the next.
I think I will go with it using the lighter can for base coat, and the right can for top coat.
Thank you, I actually cleaned up the the console with a soft green Brillo Pad and Windex. I used a primer to paint the plastic portion of the console.
