k-6 location please help

Hi everyone new here to this forumm and the cougar world. ive just purchased my first 1968 cougar. i need to replace the k-6 relay under dash. i have removed my guages and heater air tube for clearance and was told it should be located on the wiper motor bracket. even with all those parts removed i cannot not see it could there be a different location for it or may someone have some pictures they can share of the location of this relay all help IS GREATLY preciated thanx in advance.

I"ve got a 68 XR7 w/AC parts car in the garage that I just took a look at. Console, dash pad, instrument cluster, and passenger bezel are all removed, and I can’t find K6 either.
To the left of the fuse block is a plate with K7, two circuit breakers, and I believe it’s the seat belt warning relay, but I can’t find K6 or K5. I looked all around the windshield wiper bracket as well, but no luck. I’ll take another look a little later today and see if I can find it, unless someone else chimes in with the answer in the meantime…

My car has a/c also but from what everyone says I still can’t find neither k5 nor k6 I see that I also have that circuit breaker box to the left of fuse block under dash and when I activate the emergency lights I here it click once then stop

What you’re describing sounds the same as my 68, with the plate mounted close to the firewall, with no room for K5/K6 behind it. I checked my 67 XR7 and 67 Standard w/AC, and they both have a plate mounted to the windshield wiper bracket with K7 on the front, and K5/K6 mounted on the backside. I’ll have to dig around some more in my 68 to see if I can locate them.

Ok so spoke with Scott over at west coast cougars and he was explaining to me that 68 changed and did not have k5 nor k6 and that the emergency flasher relay is located in the trunk which makes since there are no signs of the relays on the wiper motor bracket. Still looking into it will post findings

Interesting. Yet another 67/68 difference I wasn’t aware of, thanks for the education!

Wait a minute here…so Scott @ WCCC says that K5/K6 weren’t used in 68, but yet here’s a 67-68 K6 Relay for sale on WCCC’s site. http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/k6.html
Who do you believe? WCCC or WCCC?!?
