Are there any stamping or other hard markings to help identify my rear leaf springs besides the painted stripes? I would like to know if they are original or replacements. Have not started cleaning them yet. This is for 1969 XR7 M code with FMX, AC, PS.
The shortest leaf on the bottom will have a Ford part number. Here is an example from my 1970 Boss 302 Mustang.
I’ve read where the Shelby guys make sure to retain that short leaf with the stampings when replacing the springs.
I guess you can swap out the original short leaf with the short leaf in a new set.
