Listing of what lube to use where?

Is there a good web resource that has a comprehensive list of what type of lube to use for every application? Between the different types of oils and greases and all that, it would be great if there’s a correct/trustworthy list of what to use where. Anybody know of such a thing? I know I can just use Google to search on a case-by-case basis, but there’s that whole question of being correct/trustworthy, the Internet being full of yahoos and all.

Lube ! Hehehe !!

I shall remain silent !

I thought there was only one Yahoo. I would ask Art to put together a list for you. Just don’t ask quattro, he’s probably going in dry.

I kinda thought, going into this, that the chances of someone jumping on the lube “heh heh” thing was about 100%. You guys have not let me down!

But no website or forum post with the info, eh? I was thinking 50/50 on that one. And just my opinion and all, but I think such a resource should definitely exist.

I believe they are all listed in the shop manual, Scott…

Don’t know of a website.

But from past experience:
On my lifted F150 I used the house brand grease on the u-joints, had to keep replacing them.
Then switched to a name brand, Valvoline, never had a problem after that.
So I don’t use the cheap stuff anymore.

Here’s a tech article on lubing the chassis from the Delmarva club’s website: http://www.dcconline.org/features/features_garage_02.html
