I still feel like this every time I get behind the wheel too:
Way too cute. Looks like a 69 interior. Love that color. Would love to see what it would look like in MY car.
Yep, key in the dash and not in the column. It may be easier to reach at startup, but not so much when repair time comes along. I do envy the 70 seat belt configuration however, and the cleaner look of the console.
The interior is Nugget Gold, which wasn’t very popular/common. I mostly see it on Medium Gold Poly exterior cars, which was this one originally. In a fortunate twist of fate when I needed to recover the front buckets, a repro vinyl set was still available and most of the common colors were long-since sold out.
Cute! Get then interested young and keep them interested.
Absolutely and the key point. My goal is for little man to develop an interest in the car as something he loves and remembers. Then hopefully he will preserve and love it as much as I do.
Learn to row those gears!!!
It may be wishful thinking, but I am seeing a generational shift. My boys were enthralled by emerging technologies and I was deeply disappointed when they didn’t want to spend time in the garage or disappear for the most of a day outside avoiding their mother, me, and anything that put limits on them. My grandson reminds me of me when I was young. He doesn’t want to watch TV, be inside, or be passive. He is as my wife quoted recently, “Turbo-supercharged-On the go”. There may be hope.
