Location Needed for Tapping Screw

I need help identifying a tapping screw I have in my collection. I had them marked as screws for the package tray on a 1969 Hardtop but if I remember correctly, the package tray doesn’t use any screws. But it has been many, many years since I had a hardtop so I can’t be sure.
The screw in question is an 8-18 x 1/2 wafer head Phillips screw. See attached pictures as well as pg 163 in the AMK Guide to Ford Fasteners Book. I also heard that maybe it was used in the convertible window well area but not sure about that either.
If anyone can help determine where these screws go, I would very much appreciate it. I have 5 so maybe +/- either way might help as well.

It looks like the type of screw that is used to attach the roofrail weatherstrip retainer on a coupe to the body of the car.

I agree with Randy.

Along with the roof rails, they are used for the rear window trim against the body so there is no interference with rear window operation. Don’t lose them, you will have a very difficult time finding any suitable replacements. Awesome find

I agree with all the other comments. I’m restoring my 69 Coupe Decor. What a project. Fun!

This screw is called a wafer screw. They use them when attaching metal building studs together or even T bar. I’ve got a huge container full when I was doing dryway. You can get these at a local drywall specialty store or possibly Home Depot. Hope this helps you out.

To me it looks like the screw that holds the belt molding/felt to the door?

Those were similar but had a domed rather than flat head.

Hi !
AMK fasteners have those item part number F-1286 (ROOFSIDE weatherstrip body 65.67Z ) 24 pieces.
