Has anyone had luck with long tube headers on a ‘67 289?
I was considering the link below.
Do they sit too low? Clear steering? I can install mini toque starter if that’s an issue?
Have a similar pair on a ‘70 C10 and love em.
Thanks

I’ve got Hedman long tubes on my '68 with a 289. I have 67 engine mounts, so it should be essentially the same fit as a '67. I’ve had no real clearance issues with power steering or manual transmission linkage (I don’t have any info when running an automatic). I ran without a power steering drop bracket for a long time without issues. I wouldn’t guarantee that it would work on anyone else’s car without a bracket, though. It was a little tricky getting the power steering lines to all clear, but I haven’t burned a line in a long time. I haven’t had any issues with the starter, either. A couple of the bolts are a little tricky to get to, but otherwise they were fairly easy to install.
From the Summit link provided in the first post - have a look at the comment from : Reviewer: JOHNATAN from WA Date: January 29, 2019. Something to be aware of ?
I just put these Hookers on my 67 with a 302.
4spd, no power steering.
It was a smooth installation, no issues.
Spend a little more for hedman elite htc coated. Thicker, last longer, thicker flange. Ball connection, they never leak. But just in case, I add SS flex connection with V band clamps.
Thanks for the info!
