Very interested in buying 1968 Cougar that is ready to go, no project cars. Ready to drive and enjoy
The 351 wasn’t available in 1968. Your choices are a 289-2V, 302-2V low compression, 302-2V, 302-4V, 390-2V, 390-4V, 427-4V, or 428-4V.
There is a nice one on bring a trailer. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-mercury-cougar-xr7-9/
I know ,it’s a 67 but darn nice, also not mine.
I have a completely restored 1968 XR7 in Lime Frost with tilt, AC and auto. The engine and transmission are original with very limited modifications done during the rebuild. It is a 302 4V. It has been stored in a heated garage as I live in northern Minnesota. So no exposure to salt and was originally from California though I found it in North Dakota. The only show I entered I won a first place.
