I’m needing to order some new lug nuts for my 68 to go with its Torq Thrust D rims . What size lugs do I need? 1/2?

That should be UNF not NF.
You are correct only because there is no difference between the two threads. So while you can use a 1/2" - 20 UNF tap to thread a lug nut, it didn’t get made that way. The use of 1/2" - 20 NF threads on Ford product lug nuts predates the ANSI/ASME change to UNF designations. So a tap and die set like the Snap On one in my garage has some dies and taps marked NF because there was no need to change tooling. 1/@" -20 NF is one that is still marked NF because that’s what it is. I bought this tap and die set in the late 1970’s so I don’t know what Blue Point sells today. Maybe they are marking them UNF now.
