We decided to more or less start from scratch on these. As it turns out some of the originals have shrunk as much as 1/2” That means all new design drawings. There are actually four different versions needed to cover all of the cars with and with out AC.
There are two versions of the aluminum trim. ‘67 used screws to mount and ‘68 used concealed dart clips. Plus each version has two permutations: AC and non AC. Do you guys think that we should offer the trim as a separate part for use with the original dash face pads? I question whether there are enough good ones left to make it worth while, however I could see people making custom face pads that might need them.
The little warning light lenses and bezels that go around the instruments as also being done (to include the trim around the wiper switch). These could also be offered as a separate kit. What do you guys think.
I am currently targeting $350 for the Dash Face pad kit including the aluminum trim and the warning light lens and bezel kit.
I hope these will ship nicely as the pad will be plastic and fairly tough to begin with. It is over sized so that may hurt a bit as shipping is getting crazy.

The back side will give you and idea of the structure we are building into the panels.

Will your reproduction face pad attach to the dash in the original manner? 67 with screws and 68 with clips? If so are you also going to be making the 68 clips as those are as hard to find as a nice original pad.

Yes on all accounts. The reproduction dash bezel accommodates the ‘67 screw mounting, the ‘68 dart clip mounting (and also Velcro mounting for custom applications). The reproduction dash bezel ships with the dart clips and they will also be available shortly. They would be available now if the first shipment had not been lost in transit. A set of 15 dart clips will sell for about $35.

Man I’m excited for these! I know how long these have been in the works and a much needed reproduction part needed! That standard face pad was not an easy design to recreate I’m sure!

So they have done some testing and they think we can go to tooling on the pad. It seems reasonable enough because in reality we are making one part that fits another one of our parts. Possibly have a sample by the end of July.
