The CD player in the dash looks like something from 15 years ago. I think this is really old.
Could be because the dash is from something 19 years ago. The pics at the end of the article really demonstrate how bland that 1999 - 2003 “Cougar” was.
Interesting to see some pics from the 2004 west coast nationals in the pictures at the end of the article

The interior shot in the article is from a '99-'02 generation Cougar. The picture above appears quite a bit newer, but I still suspect its just somebody’s Photoshop special, not something FoMoCo is seriously considering.
On the other hand, Ford’s decision to discontinue all cars except the Mustang in North America leaves Lincoln with NO cars, only crossovers and SUVs. A new Mustang based Cougar, sold by Lincoln, would be just the shot in the arm that Division needs to pump up sales volume and bring younger shoppers into the showrooms.
Perhaps that thought has occurred to someone with some pull within the Ford heirarchy. But given the obliviousness exhibited by Ford product planners over the past several years, I’m not holding my breath.
