Mercury Valve Covers

I have an odd Question. I found metal Mercury Valve Covers with lighting bolt for my wifes 390. Does anyone know did Mercury make Small Block Valve Covers other then powered by Ford?? Any information would be great :flamer:

You could also find plain with no script for the stamped metal covers. Then you had the small block XR7-g aluminum valve covers. http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/gcvrs.html

The 390 valve covers sound interesting. Do you have a picture that you could post?

Those were used in 1966 - 67 on FE powered full size mercurys. There is no small block version. Picture:

Royce, I hate to correct you, but I am pretty sure these were used on 65 and 66 full size Mercury. For 1967 they were only used on early full size with the engine compartment chrome dress up kit and on the S-55. For the other 67 full size Mercurys I have seen two styles, very early cars appears to have the same valve cover as 66 390GT Fairlane and Cyclone and then from an unknown date in the fall 1966 they started using the “Power by Ford” valve covers.

Double post WTF???
