Monte Carlo Bar and Export Brace Hardware

Hello everyone,

I recently got a Chrome Monte Carlo Bar and a Chrome Export Brace for my 68 Cougar. I haven’t installed them yet and would like to install them both with either stainless steel or chrome hardware. Does anyone know where I can get stainless or chrome mounting hardware for these two pieces and how much I should expect to pay?

My local Ace Hardware carries a speciality section of chrome and stainless nuts, bolts and fasteners. They are under lock and key so you have to get assistance to go through the bins. I’m not sure on the pricing though. Hopefully someone else will be more specific on pricing.

They keep it locked up? Are they in the ghetto? If not I’ll bet they want way too much for it.

That’s too funny. No ghetto but the bins are locked. I figured the same thing, the price must be very high. I’ve never had a need for either polished stainless or chrome nuts and bolts.

As far as cost, the Ace Hardware here is WAY cheaper as far as chrome or stainless automotive screws, like pennies instead of dollars. Want black oxide bolts like they use on the risers of a motorcycle? Ace has 'em for something like $.30-$.50, at least that was the case the last time I got some.

Thanks for the suggestions! At least I have somewhere to start now. I’d like to get these parts on the car instead of in boxes in the garage, we’ve got a couple of big car shows left for the season coming up in the next few weeks.
