Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals aka MCACN; An Invitation

Being a HUGE fan of Cougars, I am proud to announce a very special display is in the works for the upcoming Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show, November 22-23, 2014.

I know that thinking about November is, well not what we may want to do, but we work all year to produce the best posssible show, so here we go!

Each year we do a variety of special and invitational displays. I was talking to my friend and long time MCACN supporter Brian Styles about his recently acquired CJ 428 Convertible, when he suggested the “Cathouse” featuring a group of High Performance Cougars.

With that being said, I would like to invite owners of Cobra Jet Cougars to consider joining us for a very special display featuring all Cobra Jet Ford products, with an emphasis on the Cobra Jet Cougar convertibles. We have several already confirmed, and would like to see as many as possible to create The Cathouse.

Last year we were able to host the Border Bandit '68, (along with Barrie Poole) and Ed Meyers 1969 Nicholson Boss 429 Cougar and this year we hope to see more Cougars than ever.

If you have any questions or require more information, feel free to e-mail me at bashton426@gmail.com or call 586-549-5291.

I will do a separate post with general MCACN show information showing the other special and Invitational displays.

THANKS!

Throw a bone to the GT-E guys with the 427’s while you’re at it…I’d think that would qualify as “Hi-Po”, yes?

Absolutely! We would love to have you join us with your GT-E; we need to let people know there are some incredible performance Mercury products out there, albeit few and far between! This is exactly what the MCACN show is all about…

LMAO, I wish I had one to bring! I was meaning for the guys that DO have them.

“Ed Meyers 1969 Nicholson Boss 429 Cougar”

I knew this was happening, but it was finished? Anyone ever see pictures?

Was shown “in progress” in our Barn Find/Hidden Gems area, where it was swamped with people all weekend. Ed was a Rock Star! :beerchug:

We are hoping Ed brings it back this year to show the ongoing progress.

Very cool bashton. I will get the word out to the CJ and GT-E owners in our club - The Delmarva Cougar Club.

BTW Bob, Ed will have his B9 Cougar at this summer’s Carlisle Ford Show. He hopes to have it a little further along restoration-wise, but it will still by “in progress”.

Outstanding!

I truly appreciate you helping us get the word out there.

As Bob indicated, my goal was to give these Hi-Po Cougars the attention they deserve.

Living in Boca Raton, we have lots of cougars down here – unfortunately they all just have very bad restoration work, but clearly their ‘air bags’ are in tip-top shape. Hey, speaking of air bags, I guess it is now obvious that I like my Cougars topless…

I have committed to bringing the '70 XR7 Convertible 428CJ Ram Air 4-speed. This is the ‘brass tag’ car that Randy Carlson owned and had restored about 10 or so years ago. The restoration is starting to show it’s age, but given that this is the only one of the four built, we felt she (Marilyn) needed to be seen at MCACN before being sent out to be re-restored back to the Cougar only color of Medium Lime Poly.

PS. Ed says his Dyno Don 429 Cougar will be painted -or- running by this year’s show… Can’t wait to see the progress!

Thanks to helping organize this Brian, and for showing your Cougar! :beerchug:

Bob, there’s a link to pics of the progress on my post: https://cccforum.discoursehosting.net/t/dyno-don-eliminator-dan-pfeiffer-sponsor-info/2924/23 . John

Looks like there is some strong interest in this, and I am happy to say we may just end up with as many Mercury products in this display as we will have Fords! :beerchug:

If you own a Cougar, whether a CJ or not, please consider joining us and showing the world that there are some pretty amazing Mercury Muscle Cars out there.

I am also hoping to host some of the Mercury competition colors in our “Color My World” invitational display.

Thanks!
