One thing I am doing is put bolts and small parts in baggies or peanut cans and marking where they come from.

Wow, great progress!

Hello, welcome and thanks for posting lots of pictures. I’m curious to know if your cat was manual steering from the factory because i dont think I’ve ever come across one without it.
Along with the duel alternator belts and smog bracket with missing smog… says some kind of race history to me.
And the fuel line seems like it has had a rerouting too. Very interesting car. Again, thanks for sharing. I look forward to following along.

Get a bunch of zip lock baggies and a sharpie. Bag and tag everything you can. Drawing pictures of which bolt and nut goes where will save you countless hours on the reassembly. Take as many pictures before during and after. More pictures than you think you will ever need. Take notes about what you did first. This will help you understand the order to reassemble the car. Good luck and remember that this is long journey.

I removed smog ( still have it but don’t plan on putting it back on), I install holley carb back in day which needed to modify fuel lines for it. no never raced car.

Differently been maintain baggy and cans with everything marked. pics when i can. especially before disassembled

Good for you, and fun to do with your grandson. Will you return the car to its original colors? Black and aqua would look sharp.

no I’m thinking burned orange metalic over black and keeping the diamond tuck since interior is in good condition

That’s wonderful, bonding and teaching your grandson. Good for you.
