my wife bought me a 69 eliminator for christmas

it was not exactly what I wanted but it is still cool  (we are on tight budget)

funny thing is image on package is of 70 with 69 stripe

Is it just me, or does that front bumper not look right?

I got a 68 standard hot wheels yesterday.

Package says 69, but it sure looks like a 70 to me. Unless the picture on the package is wrong… :unamused:

correct, the model has a 69 front end. sad thing is bumper, grille and lower valance is all chrome (same on rear)

That’s a thoughtful gift your wife gave you. I received the American Icons - Muscle Cars coffee table book. It has a Mercury section featuring 1968 standard, XR7G, 1969 Eliminators and the Boss 429 Cougar. So that’s my Cougar gift.

Not sure the mirrors are correct either

My Fiance’ got me this tee shirt…

model has no mirrors lol, plus you should see the angle of rear spoiler front edge of spoiler is almost touching decklid :open_mouth:

It is a Hot Wheels mainline. At most it was $1 and its only 3" long, so its not going to be exactly detailed. Some of the proportions do make you laugh sometimes though. Their latest 68 casting is really off, but they were going for more of a ā€˜street fighter’ / road racer vibe. I haven’t been able to bring myself to buy that one. I’ve got the 69 Eliminator in a couple colors and a bunch of the 68s. Hot Wheels are the only way I can afford all the cars I’d like to have, so I’ve got a few. There are some with better detail but they are ā€˜premium’ brands (M2, Auto World, Johnny Lightning, and Hot Wheels special editions) and cost about $5-$7. At a buck a piece, though, you can’t go wrong (or expect too much).

Here’s my collection…

This is part of my collection.

Ah, boys and their toys. I love it, guys!
You are doubly blessed if you have a wife/gf who gets it.

You had me going! I thought we might have a repeat of the gift seen here…

That wife is a keeper!! She should have put a big red bow on top and when she recorded her husbands surprised look, it would look like a Lexus commercial but from the 60’s!

My daughter bought my grandson and me a 70 Eliminator for Christmas!
Look this up.

Don’t let that little lady get away. That gift selection indicates she’s a keeper!

I got my new toy in the mail yesterday! It came via Royal Mail from a store called ā€œLittle Wheelsā€ in Great Britain. It’s not my year ('68) but I had to have it! It’s a beat up James Bond '69 Cougar. Check it out
