Need some insight into valuation

Would someone be able to give me some insight into the value of a 1969 Cougar Convertible 2 Door. Ive been told the transmission is bad but it runs and is in fair condition otherwise. Has around 68,000 miles on it.

Thanks so much!

Hello there LunaMoon60, and welcome.

Rust is the most important issue - and they all have some rust, no matter what people say.

We would need some detailed pictures in order to answer your question.

Also engine, color and other options. Do you have a Marti Report you can post?

  • Phillip

Thanks for the quick response. I do not have a Marti report but I will gather more info and pics.

Sorry; I tried to upload all the photo’s from the estate sale website. They are about the last ten photo’s for the sale.

Blue Moon Estate Sale - Muscle Car, ART Furniture, DECOR, Jewelry & more in Winston-Salem - Blue Moon Estate Sales (Greensboro, NC)

They are asking $14,000 but will consider offers. 1969 2 Door Convertible, 8cyl, 351cid/290HP, 4bbl. There is an issue with the transmission and a dent on the back quarter panel.

Thanks

Hagerty values a 69 Cougar convertible in fair shape at $16,100.

Thank you

An in-person inspection for rust should be performed, especially on a convertible.

One item that jumps out at me is the aftermarket/custom radiator. That is a concern.

Agree with Phil.
Take a hard look behind front tires at the frame for starters.

Thank you!
