New 1969 Cougar Owner

Hi, I am new to the site and I am a proud new owner of this 1969 Cougar, 351 4v/ Automatic, Ps/Pdb/Pw/Ac/Tilt Wheel/console/passenger side visor clip on mirror witch I thought was cool to still be with the car. The car has 45,352 miles original. The suspension has been upgraded with new springs up front and a leaf added to the back. It has had one repaint. The car looks to have been well cared for. It came with all documents from the time it was sold, serviced any work do was documented.
The car was originally sold in Massillon Ohio then was sold to a gentleman in Florida who used it as a occasional car when they visited Florida in the winter, it went from there to Eire Pa to get occasionally driven for pleasure total 332 miles from what i can tell from the title. Now in Marion Ohio for fun!!!
My first adventure will be the turn signals, they work when i picked it up but after a trailer ride there not working? So the fun begins.

After posting this I noticed the front license plate bracket in the trunk I was looking for?? lol When I was putting on the license plate my girlfriend started laughing, I said what are you laughing about she said it says HRS (Hers) on the plate. There goes all respect for my ride.LOL

Looks really nice!

Thanks for posting - and it could stand for “Hours”

Many of which will, hopefully, be spent enjoying your Cougar

My first Cougar was like yours. Only it was a Sport Special. Very nice!

Thanks, I hope to enjoy it as much as I can. I also said hours, she said nope it says HERS Thank You. LOL I put it in the garage shut the door.
I also want to thank everyone on the forum for the vast amount of knowledge all in one place. I have been learning a lot about the Cougar world. I think I watched about every video Don as on youtube (Great Work). I can see why he is in business very helpful very straight forward. I will enjoy doing business with him & WCCC family.

My first was '69 XR7. You have a beautiful, straight, and clean Cat. Congratulations and welcome!

Great looking car. Congrats!

Great looking car - enjoy it !!!

Nice; enjoy it.

Well my first adventure went pretty good. I researched all i could, did testing and determined the turn single switch was bad. I ordered a new one from West Coast Custom Cougar. Installed it today and all is good, turn signals work as they should.
Thanks for all the information testing.
On to my next adventure!!

Great attitude, old cars are definitely an adventure. Welcome & enjoy.

Hey HRS - congrats to you!! I actually called and sent emails inquiring about the car but I guess you had already gotten the worm !!
Good luck with it!!

Rick

Wow, you can’t really pick that one apart. Regardless what you paid make sure you insure it for at least $30k as you could not build one like it for less.

Don,

The car was advertised on CL for $14.5 or 15k, if I’m not mistaken. Well bought!

Yes it was on CL at $15k, I picked it up for a bit less, I think it was a good buy. I did insure it for $20k with Hagerty, maybe i should up it a bit? It is in very good condition with all the documentation that it came with was a nice surprise, everything from original order form, window sticker to service records.
The guy did say he had other interested parties. The guy was very cool to hang with, he loved the car but said he just never got to drive it. It was parked in his shop not at home so it was a hassle to go get it if he wanted to drive it.
