New from RCCI!

Bob at Rocketmans Classic Cougar Innovations has come up with a winner, in my book…

The PaWS Programmable Wiper Delay for first-gen Cougars(also compatible on Mustangs):

I was lucky enough to be a test-bed for this product, and it works as-advertised. Here’s a little pictorial of installation:

Brain-box mounted on dash support, within easy reach of the wiper motor and plugs(white plug is for on/off switch):

Simply unplug your wiper motor connector, plug each existing side of the harness into the corresponding plug on the brain box, and you’re almost done.

Only thing left to do is wire up the on/off switch. I picked up a little rocker switch at Radio Shack:

I intentionally left my leads forever long, because the “plan” is to mount the rocker switch in my console, when I get around to building it! Finger tip control of the wipers!

That is all there is to it, two plugs on the brain box, wire your switch, and you’re done.

Bob works hard to make his product “plug and play” simple, so much so, that even I can do it…he also includes instructions with ALL of his items.

Awesome, Bob!!!

(BTW, Bill B, feel free to move this thread, seemed the most appropriate place, to me!)

looks like this would do the same thing. part # 17A553. page 185 http://npd.dirxion.com/WebProject.asp?BookCode=mtg12flx&from=2#

Yup, looks like it, except for it doesn’t fit on 67-68’s. Bob’s does!

Interesting, hadn’t seen that part before. Competitive in price with the 70’s switch/box from Ford that I used on Isabel.

Check with Don at WCCC - I believe they have had problems with the rheostat type NPD sells. And as previously stated - there is no 67-68 version.

I am just fine with my Ford version and like it a lot. Did you ever document the wiring anomoly I had and figured out and reported to you (which was a tad different than your article) Bob? Also, did you receive my email regarding LF stuff? I sent it a week or so ago.

Also, while am talking electronics, did you see I have solved the flashing at threshold issue with LF circuits? I’ll call it ELFI V2.0.

NICE. I sold Rocket man some gauges a while back ,great guy and an innovator for sure!

Hi Bob. I added your wiring solution to my collection - I now have three variations depending on the year of the unit. Unbelievable. :bloated:

I saw your posts on the improved ELFI. Good job!

Update time for the PaWS system…

This past Sunday, I had pulled The Heap out of the shop to work on cleaning up the mess in there(mess means progress, yes?), and it started to sprinkle a bit. Well, I hadn’t had much opportunity to take the car out in rain, intentionally or otherwise, so it was a perfect opportunity to test the wiper delay. So, jumped in, and tooled around the neighborhood for a bit, setting, and re-setting the programmable delay.

I’m pleased to say that the system functioned 100% as advertised, with delay time adjustment available at the push of a button. Each re-set time was spot on, and worked flawlessly. TheRktmn produced a winner on this one! Thanks, Bob!
