Got home and there was a box on the front porch. Ten minutes later my phone rings and Dad says Merry Christmas. Kind of set me back in my chair. When we talked he said his only regret was not being there to wrench on it with me. I hate living so far away from him because he’s not getting any younger.
Very Nice!
Nice!! While my Dad taught me mechanics, bodywork and how to gas weld, he never believed in “go fast” parts. Good on you.
Dad taught me how to tune a QJet when I was five, how to degree a cam when I was ten, and the list goes on. He actually showed me what the problem with most qjets that earned them the Quadrabog nickname (secondary air door adjusted to open too soon). He also taught me to paint.
That’s going to be a lot of fun!!
Fun stuff! I can’t say how much my dad has taught me! It’s exactly why it was so important to me to present our newly restored '68 that he bought in '75 to him on his 80th birthday 3 years ago. He is still sharp as a tack, ask him a question about a '40’s-'50’s era tractor and get ready for some stories!
Well my calender must be wrong, but Merry Christmas.
What else is happening aside from the intake?
No, your calendar isn’t wrong. Dad’s just like that. I told him a few months back about the cam swap I plan to do, and that I was going to FINALLY put an intake on it. I guess he decided to send me my presents early. He admitted to having mercenary intentions as he wants the two barrel intake and carb for his Galaxie.
We didn’t always have a great relationship ,but I’m not gonna’ get into that here. Suffice it to say we are BOTH trying to make up for lost time. Which is why I painted and gave him the intake, and carb (didn’t paint) for his new engine in his LTD.
