I’m Jason. I have a 67 Mustang Convertible I’ve had since 1986. My brother had a 68 Cougar XR7. He didn’t have it but a few years as he rear ended someone and that pretty much was the end of it. Too expensive to fix, probably 1984. It was a nice car. I always liked the convienance group and some other Cougar Features.
One of those was Cougar kick panel speakers. I put those pods in my Mustang and that’s why I joined. I bought some old Cougar kick panels and used them as a template to drill speaker holes for 67 Convertible. I found the information in this forum.
I counted 1099 holes per kick panel. I got one done to install. I’m going to put it in and see.
I have a Factory AM dash radio. I took an old 20wpc Kenwood amp and installed Polk 5 1/4 speakers in the Cougar pods. I used a Bluetooth adapter for my phone.
I’d be happy to help any Cougar owner here with the things in common. I have Factory AC and a good number of 67-68 Cougars did too. I’m pretty good with that.
it seems like a nice community.
I don’t have room for a Cougar but I’d pick a 68 like my brothers or I’d have to go for a 69 Convertible.
His was dark green with black interior. Had Cragar SS mags on it. What else would you have in the early 80s?
