I need to put new mufflers on my base 67. Looking at Magnaflow, Borla, and Flowmaster. Looking for a good muscle car sound. Anyone have experience with any of these mufflers?
I have an x pipe and flowmasters on my 67. I love it!
Borla owner here. I’ve been very pleased with the sound.
Do you have headers, and/ or a cam? You tube can be your friend, if you have head phones- I just got new exhaust on my 69, and went with a two chamber. Sounds great, but it’s louder than I wanted. I guess I’m at the age where I want to be able to enjoy a conversation with the windows down-
I used Dynomax 17730 mufflers on a 390 - nice sound and not too loud.

I have headers and straight 2.5 pipes to the mufflers
I’ve had Flowmasters since the early 90s. No X Pipe. Love it and unlike others, have zero drone.

Flowmasters 40 delta with x pipe. Love the sound inside and out
I’ve had Magnaflow and Flowmasters. Flowmaster have more aggressive sound and more drone cruising, but probably flow the best and make the most power. Magnaflow will annoy your neighbors less. Never had any Borlas personally, but most of there stuff is stainless and has a unique sound.
