New Mustang GTE

Looks like Ford is going to make a GTE package on the new Mustang. looks like some added scoops stickers and such. A modest 20 hp increase on the GT model and add $18,000 to the price. ouch…

They should be kicked in the sack for using that badge on such a lame car. :piss2:

It’s cool to see the GT-E nameplate revised but what a lame choice of a Mustang to use it on. The “E” can be for “embarrassing performance for the price”.

When I purchased my 16 Fusion there was a “Roush” ecoboost mustang in the showroom. Cosmetic, suspension and exhaust tweaks added about $20K to the sticker. Oh, and a bunch of “Roush” stickers etc all over the car. No thanks.

Ford must have had to use the name or lose their rights to it.
I’d love to see Lincoln do a BMW killing Mustang variant and call it a hmmmm…
Cougar???

Looks like it is a Shelby thing not Ford proper. More a of a lower buck way to get more people into a Shelby modified vehicle.

Seems to me that it is similar to the 2007-2008 Shelby GT’s they were making, capitalizing on the GT-H builds around the same time.
Take a basic GT, add some goodies for HP, handling and appearance, mark it up $20k.

Apparently the “E” stands for Enhanced…

I thought the “E” stood for expensive.
