I ask because I saw the wall of intakes through the reflection of one of the photos.
Interesting, I just looked at the lights I picked up for my car. The chrome is really nice but where the paint or chrome is supposed to be around the center of the lens, is not there. The paint on the back side of the lenses, looks white on the pictures Blitz has put up, but Mine looks more, of a light grey color and some of the paint is missing on the back of the glass as well. I would like to repaint them. Do you think I should use a high temp paint or is that necessary? I originally picked up some model spray paint in white so not to melt the plastic and thought that would be good, not to be too opec, does that mater?
Just a bump in regards to the question I asked some time ago about the Opera lights I picked up some time ago for my 68.
Any ideas? see post above.
Just to be clear, the lens you have are not the reproductions, but a set of original lens that need some work…
The paint should be white, not gray. The paint controls how much light goes through that part of the lens. I think that you will need to do some experimentation to get that right. Maybe you can remove all of the paint and go from there. The trick will be to get the right coverage so the light shows through. We used a high temp paint (500 degrees F), but I think that is just a precaution.
Thanks Bill, Between the two types, It’s funny that there is no trace of paint or chrome on my lenses for the center ring. It is possible these lenses never came with the center ring treatment?

Ok, Here they are, a far cry from the new one’s from WCCC.
I got them off of Ebay some time ago.
OK… I have ones that look like that too. What happens is the finish after awhile just falls off and what people do is just scrub the remainder of the fading paint off with steel wool. I think this is what happened here.
I’ve got a pair that look like that too… and some white header paint.
Thanks Don for explaining that. After looking at these closer I see some rust between the ring and the lens. Looks like I will eventually be getting some new one’s from you!
