New project blank canvas…..ideas?

I have a blank canvas project that I’m ready to start. It’s just a 2v 351 xr-7 car. Looking for color ideas. Keep in mind this will be a black interior with a black vinyl top…ideas welcomed

The 1970 code T red was sharp with black top and interior. Or a darker more modern maroon. Triple black is timelessly cool too!

I found vinyl to be troublesome and can hold water and create rust underneath if not sealed well. How about painting the top black, using chromed vinyl top trim as a separator, and then using the T red paint Calicat suggested? Definitely keep everything chrome that you can. Blacked out looks too much like modern plasti-cars for my tastes, but is fine it you are going for a modern-ish restomod.

Black painted top area instead of vinyl top. I prefer smooth tops to vinyl covered tops.

That’s a great looking car! Great stance

To be a bit contrarian - I think a black body with a maroon top would look amazing. Basically how it looks in the photo. You see so many with a black/dark top, so this would really catch the eye.

Well, plans have changed already. The availability of a Dynacorn roof skin has put thoughts of a vinyl top to bed for good…now I’m more in the camp of competition orange

Hi !
For me I a nice orange is a Dodge (sorry) Mango orange metallic with black center hood stripe,
Should look awesome and a bit different!
But you already have a good looking car.
Good luck

I’ve changed my mind to competition orange…

Love that car!!! Where is this??? Would love to do a clone of this, or any of the first gen SS or Pro Sock cars. Would be soo cool.

The second one looks exactly like mine. Love it!!!

Well, I had settled on competition orange…but my wife, I’ve come to find out, hates orange. Now I’m on the hunt again for another stock type color that goes with a black interior and eliminator accoutrements

IMHO. Why do you care what she thinks? If you want it. DO IT. Spent WAAYY too much time caring about what she thought. Misery!!! Now… Well I got a 1969 Cougar XR7 428CJ!!!

Happy wife…happy life! That’s a great looking 69!

Miserable… Miserable life… And thanks… GREENY will treat me alot better too!!!
