Brian, that must be your restomod. Plase tell us more and more pictures? It really does look nice and I like your rims too. I am just into differant, but in good taste which is subject big time to every one elses likes and dislikes.
I love torque thrusts, magnums, and the style wheels but I prefer differant but not 20s with rubber bands. I know the lower profile sidewalls are way better for handeling, I went as far as I could with my new tires on my 69. I still am not sure I like them allthough the differance is night and day on my mountain roads. I hope I get used to the way they look. They are Toyo Proxes R888s and they are bad ass, but they dont fill the wheel wells like I am used to.
Dont mean to bushwack this thread.
To get back to it, tell us more and post more pictures!!! LOL

Hi jacking some more, oh well. Where in Micigan are you from? My wife is from Sebawaing. I tried to get up to Michagan all last summer, just too busy. The reason why is I want to line up a bunch of barns for this summer. The bigger the better.

Okay so not hijacking too much, we are still waiting on more pictures and more info. LOL

Thank you all, I’m really happy to be a part of this forum and I do like the styled steel wheels better but I also liked the first set or rims I had. I try to get some more photos to post soon. The interior is black and it currently has a 302 4bbl. My wish list would be to upgrade the front brakes to disc as they are currently drums and upgrade the carburetor and intake manifold. I currently have an Autolite 4bbl 1.08 venturi and it has suited well. I eventually would like to get Edelbrock manifold and carb 500 cfm with electric choke? I recently installed an HEI distributor and what a world of difference it has been starting. My stock distributor crapped out and always had to mess with the points… I also have the rear defroster set up on the parcel shelf in the back but had to install an aftermarket switch to turn it on. I was lucky enough to have my Cougar in two magazines, “Legendary Ford Magazine and Hot Rod. It’s by all means no show car but I love it.

Brian!!! Wow thats my twin Cougar!! Even the color! :beerchug:

Yes, it is the 68 standard restomod. The first Cougar I bought in 1985 that started the madness we call cougarholic. Solid clean CA car built and sold in San Jose with a mild built 302, C4 with AC. I installed all poly-graphic bushings in the suspension with KYB shocks 1 1/2 front sway bar and added 5/8 rear sway bar. Lowered it a couple inches in front and it handles great. The wheels are keystone 14" (don’t remember the model) purchased back in the 80’s when that look was in.
Some custom touches to the interior. The whole build cost me $6,500 including the purchase price, but that was in the 80’s when you could buy all new wheel moldings for $100 which I did. I’ll go post a before and after picture over in that thread.

I live in the Battle Creek area lower center of the state. Drop me a note and stop by if you’re going to be in the area. What barns are you looking for? To photograph?

You complete your mods and they will be closer sisters yet. I swapped mine over to front disc brakes from a parts car. Running an Edelbrock performer intake and Holley 600 cfm carb. Do you know what your official paint color is?

Its a Ford Fleet Blue, I cant remember the exact name for it but I believe the official name is “Ultra Metalic Blue”

I believe the wheels are the same as mine which are made by Specialty Wheels and sold by WCCC. I’ll share the side shot of the car in late May when it is finally in paint and on the road!
