New vs restored steering wheel

Late to the praise, but man, that is superb and really snaps…

After dipping, wrapping with a mylar band on the outside and inside diameter, and clearing with 2K High Gloss

Where did you obtain the Mylar band and how did you attach within the grove?

My wheel appears to be in good shape except for the Mylar piece that has come out in places.

The ACP steering wheels don’t have a groove so this was just pressed onto the wheel and then covered with clear to keep it in place.

Thanks. Will have to check into this or other potential options. I thought I’ve seen stainless steel used as well, but assume the hardest part is finding the correct material that will fit into the groove.

Cleaning out the groove it fit pretty cleanly, held it with a couple of drops of gorilla glue.
