So, my 68 XR7 literally has no center console. No storage bon or drink holders. Is there somewhere to purchase something to substitute? I have an automatic btw. There’s literally nowhere to store anything.
Look into the “Hump Hugger” type consoles available to the Mustang folks, but also used by many Cougar, Fairlane, etc. owners.
WCCC sells some (https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/store/Search.aspx?SearchTerms=hump%20hugger&CatID=15885) as well as many Mustang parts retailers.
Lots of options out there. The above “hump hugger” is a great option and pretty cheap. I have used these and they are nice.
Also if you want a full console a couple places offer one. They are marketed as mustang but they will fit a cougar just the same. They also would be easy enough to build if your handy and have a little time. If you build your own you can customize to your taste…gauges, ac vents, usb charging etc.

One thing to keep in mind is whether your Cougar has AC when choosing a full length console.

I have aftermarket air conditioning. I’ve seen the jump hugger things, but read in the reviews that they would not fit an automatic 68 Cougar
I have the TMI deluxe from the link above in my '67 auto with no console. Cost more than the hump hugger but I liked the look much better. I did use weights in the bottom to help keep it from moving around and feel more stable. My only complaint on the aftermarket consoles is that the cup holders are made for a 12oz can and you need an adaptor for larger drinks.
I purchased the Hump Hugger and it fits perfect between the seats on my '67 Cougar. I don’t have AC (yet), not sure if that would be an issue as it doesn’t extend all the way to under the dash.
I bought it from a different retailer though, as WCCC did not have the Ivy Gold color that would match my cat’s interior.
