Nominations for November 2011

This thread is where you will put nominations for Ride of the Month for November 2011.

All you need to do is to identify the car and the owner. A picture of the car would be helpful if you can locate one.

As a reminder, here is how it works:

We will nominate cars until the 25th of the month,
then vote from the 25th to the 1st of the following month, and announce the winner.

The article will go up just as quickly after wards as possible. Then we start all over again. I will create a new “RIDE OF THE MONTH” section of the website and each car will have it’s own thread.

NEW!

Just wanted to let you guys know that the CCC.COM Ride of the Month is now officially sponsored by West Coast Classic Cougars!

ROM Winners get:

Free Shipping on any order in the 48 states or a huge shipping discount on shipping any where else in the world.

A genuine WCCC Tee Shirt

A genuine WCCC Hat

Anything else Don feels like tossing into the box for free. (like packing peanuts or air? LOL!)

To kick things off, I would like to nominate Brian Aust’s Blackie 1968 XR7-GTE Black on Black or course.

I’ll second that one!!!

(Is the Hero the “official” October car??)

And then this nomination from mo2872:

Though I haven’t “seen” it, MercuryDon’s wellington gt-e car would get my nomination…simply because I love the wellington blue!

Don, We need a picture or two to go with this!

And this nomination from Local Hero:

I vote for T3’s (mo2872) “Sooner Cat” more appropriately known as “My Allowance” (he’ll tell you the story on that… LOL).

This guy dragged The Heap out of a field and never even heard it run before ripping it apart to the bare shell. He then proceeded to do a ground up resto on it with some updated mods and some small custom touches ALL BY HIMSELF without anyone even around to lend a hand except for the first time the engine was fired. He’s never done a car before and I’ll guesstimate that 75% or more of the skills required to do a car were learned as he went. It is now a running and driving and looks pretty damn good doing it.

I can’t get to his pictures right now but here’s a video:

Can we get some pics here? (edit: fixed it!, thanks Jean!)

How about it guys? More nominations can be added until the 25th of the month.

but…we already HAVE a nice place for pictures… http://www.classiccougarcommunity.com/forum/gallery/album.php?album_id=29

Heres my GTE
Drk Blue GTE 001sm.jpg

WOW! I may like Blue/Blue better than Black/Black?

Blue rocks…still can’t figger why I used red on my car…Maybe because my truck is blue…shrug

But I second the Blue GTE!!

Wait…I can’t second my own nominee, can I?? DOH!!! (covered in shame…)

Crap! man is that ever a beaut!

I have to say I really like black on black Cougars . That being said I have to place my vote on Don’s blue beauty. Striking color combo on that GTE. Steven

Day-um; you guys made it tough! While I’m a big fan of Todd’s paint (and his choice of mufflers  ); Don’s GTE is in one of my favorite colors! Both beautiful cars; and Todd’s efforts made me feel like I can actually accomplish something with my Cat; if ever given the time.

Decisions, decisions… time to dig out the ol’ two-headed quarter and bet “Tails”.

Aww, thanks, DD…LOL.

Color…I vascillated between the red I picked, and HOK’s Cobalt Kandy Basecoat…maybe it’s “next” iteration will be blue!
As far as “time” to work…I’d say 75% of my work occurred between the hours of 9 p.m., and ??? however long I could last. With two youngins, time was at a premium!

I do love the Wellington/Grey combo on the E car, as well…very sharp, IMO.

Flippin for it…DANGIT!!! I was going to call TAILS!!!

Well, one of my all time favorite cougars is ROTM currently, and I really really like T3’s, as well as the other nominees so far, and I haven’t had a chance to look through all the gallery yet… Was gonna nominate one of Leon’s, but can’t seem to find any pics of his over here, (just think it would neat to hear the story of a ‘down under’ car), but did run across this one that I am nominating because, next to a 'vert, an Eliminator is my favorite. Doesn’t look like this member has signed in since Sept., but hopefully he is still around and hopefully this cat is finished… With that, I nominate: 1969eliminator

(can’t quite figure out how to ‘paste’ a link from the gallery…
Thanks
Chuck

That’s Harry’s and his story is REAL special.

Way cool, Bill!

THANKS, DON!!! (and the whole WCCC crew!)

That sounds like a pretty good prize. Can I nominate my car?

Okay that all sounds awesome! How do I win? I need to take pics and make an entry in the gallery and then coerce people into liking it? So, like, really well-lit pics and maybe my hawt wife on the hood? Or is that not the right way to go about it?

Well, that might work…

Posting in the gallery is an excellent start.

Pics are also quite easy to post here.

Yessir!
