This is a “Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos” clock which was passed down to my dad from his dad. The clock is “powered” by atmospheric pressure changes, hints the “Atmos” name. The clock was given to my grandfather in 1967 from Purolator for his 40 year anniversary. Purolator is short for “pure oil later” and the founders patented the first automotive oil filtration system. I googled Jaeger-LeCoultre and discovered that they still make the Atmos clock today…in fact, Amazon has them for a mere $5,359.

I am proud to say the clock was recently passed down to me, and it will be passed down again one day.
I did not touch the internal elements of the clock since the gold plating was still in very good condition. The gold plating on the outer case was in poor condition… I decided to remove it and polish the brass to a mirror finish. Unfortunately, when doing so the text came right off the soft brass plaque. I had a new one made for a few bucks and the finished product is pictured above.
